Dear sir/madam
I am sending this from Australia in the hope that you may be able to help me. I am currently putting some of our family history. One event which is significant for us was a visit by the family probably in the mid 1930's to some one who lived in a flat above the Pork Butcher's Shop half way down a hill in Morecambe. This information has come from early memories of one of the family. We have no idea who lived there and we are eager to find out. This may provide an important link to tracing other members of our scattered family.
I understand that there was a wide road being made somewhere nearby and the boys went rollerskating on it. I'm sorry I can't be more specific, but I will be most grateful to you if you can shed any light at all on this memory. If you can trace the correct address of the Pork Butcher Shop at that time through your local history knowledge it would be a huge help, let alone if there are any records of residents in the flat above. I'm hoping that there will be someone who will have some recollection that will helpme with this request.
Thanking you for your kindness in anticipation
Yours sincerely
Fran Holmes
