Roll up! Roll up! The first May Bank Holiday weekend sees the Winter Gardens take a step back in time to the glory days of the Variety Show. Organised by Goldust Shows the Morecambe Variety Festival sees a range of Victorian-style acts performing through the day (including a Chamber of Horrors and juggling dare-devil stunts from the Fabulous Kapow Sisters) with two ticketed events in the evening: a Family Variety Show at 6pm followed by King Neptune’s Burlesque Ball.
The fun continues on Sunday with Punch and Judy among others and the festival wraps up with a Vintage Tea Dance from 5pm. If that wasn’t enough there will be a range of activities going on throughout both days including a Vintage Powder Room, art classes, tours of the Winter Gardens and story telling.
Full details of everything planned for the weekend can be found at www.goldustshows.com. Tickets are already being snapped up for many of the ticketed events over the weekend – so if you want to secure yours visit www.skiddle.com or drop into Dotty’s Vintage on Marine Road.
