Hello,
I am History student in search of information. The Cariboo Gold Rush took place in this part of the world during the 1860s. A large percentage of the people who took part in it came from England. The only contact they had with home and family was letters and photos. It is my hope that some of these have survived and I am trying to find them. While I am checking with the institutions normally associated with such collections, I am also hoping to find "undiscovered" material that may be in private hands or held by smaller organizations that one wouldn't normally think of. This may be people with a penchant for keeping old stuff or local heritage societies, etc. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. If nothing leaps into your mind perhaps you know of some useful place that this note could be forwarded to.
Thanks,
